Inspired by their international travel, the client's objective with this project was to balance the simplicity of minimalist design with enough warmth for it to be a comfortable home for their large family. We accomplished this by using tactile natural materials such as honed marble and rough sawn oak. By keeping the palette neutral and the architecture open and honest, the house showcases the spectacular views of the Laguna Beach coastline. This remodel of an existing 3 story home took the existing house down to it's essential structure and completely transformed the residence. Every detail was carefully considered to further enhance and reinforce the overall impetus of the project.
